An attacking entity would have to follow the same trend, by first disrupting the control of the region, then the constellations one by one, and finally the systems.
This is backwards... it should be easier to attack a single system than an entire region.

We could also scale it, so you need very many people to capture region gates, a bunch of people to capture constellation gates and just a hand full to capture a system gate.
Again, it should be EASIER to take a single system than an entire region. That part of the game isn't broken.

We want give the sovereigns the ability to monitor and defend their borders. Allowing them to anchor defenses as well as tools to see who, when and what has been using the gates.
Would it be possible to place limits on the number or size of ships coming through the gate owned by a particular sovereign entity? There should obviously be a minimum imposed by mechanics (like 50 frigates or 15 BS every 5 minutes), but I would like to see a smaller alliance be able to contend with one of the larger ones by severely hampering the effectiveness of a blob. (The limits should apply to ALL ships, not just enemies/neuts). Maybe this would require a ôCheck Pointö anchored at the gate, which could be disabled/destroyed? Or could you do it by the countup-countdown timer method?

This whole scenario also ties into the cynosural jammer and jump bridge combo that has also been on our meeting agenda now. We've been discussing multiple options; disallowing jump capable ships from using jump bridges, disallowing capital ships entirely (the problem here is the freighters), allow the use of covert cynosural field generator in cynosural jammed systems, simply just disable jump bridges in cynosural jammed systems or make them much more vulnerable to small gangs (increase fitting requirements, decrease hit points).
HereÆs a thought: First, make them easier to kill (less HP). Second, make Black-Ops BSÆs immune (or virtually immune) to unmanned POS guns/ecm/disruptors/etc. for the first 2-5 minutes or until a gun/ecm/disruptor/tower is attacked. BO BSÆs donÆt do a ton of damage, they are really expensive and require a fair amount of skillpoints to fly. So tune the Bridge/Jammer HP to allow a small gang of 5 or so BO pilots to go take down bridges & jammers, at the risk that if they donÆt do it fast enough, or if someone is POS gunning they may take heavy losses.
